Dear Bible researcher and brother in Christ,
I have wondered at the stark position concerning what some call 'Dispensationalism'. Could these ‘anti-dispensationalists’ be missing things the Lord would otherwise share with them, for this doctrinal brick-wall they have built around themselves?
I have seen where a bad experience in a 'church' of doctrinal zealots, has led some to push as far away from this bad church as possible, as such - making a doctrine of their own - that reverses the culprit theology - and denies all ‘dispensations’. But is that honest research?
I wish to point out, that it is 'truth' that gets twisted more than error; because error falls of its own accord; That is, the devil is far more interested in distorting that which is true, than conjuring up fresh fables that few will believe. In other words..
‘..You catch more fish with a real worm than a plastic lure..’1
Just yesterday I was reading in the Scriptures and came to Ephesians 1:10 ..
“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one
all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”
Certainly every saint knows the verse. And whether the Greek word - οἰκονομίαν (Oikonomian) is translated 'dispensation', or 'administration', or 'stewardship', the meaning is clear - there is a time period when this age we’re living in will end, and the Lord will gather his own.
Personally, I have studied the Scriptures about 50 years with the guidance of the holy spirit, and have noted very specific delineated eras, or time frames in the Bible.
There was the Garden of Eden! Where man had his first chance to believe and obey God and enjoy the fruits of that obedience, but he blew it.. END of Garden.
Then the world leading up to the flood which devolved into utter depravity so the Lord destroyed much of the living creatures, sparing a remnant of each creature and 8 men.
This became the period ‘before the Law’, when each man was a law unto himself and sin was not reckoned as later;
Then came the law, but also a period when there were no kings in Israel, and each man did that which was ‘right in his own eyes2’, and the world was a mess;
Then came the kings and prophets, (Hezekiah and Isaiah for example) where depending on who was reigning in Israel - God’s people were either worshipping Him, or worshipping devils on hills and in groves, following the example of whoever was in power; (The books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles chronicle the ups and downs of God’s people in this time period)
Then came 400 years of silence from heaven - where no prophets spoke - from Malachi to Jesus Christ.
Then finally - the ministry of Jesus Christ - the personal appearance of the King, though his own rejected him, and he was killed; End of period, Kingdom of heaven held in abeyance - since the King was no longer present.
Then came this unique period of time - a time frame that the prophets of old SAW in the Scriptures but couldn’t identify it.. because it was ‘HIDDEN in GOD’, and that was the Age of Grace, the CHURCH AGE to which we still belong, …
Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.’ I Peter 1:10 - 12
A period of time that differs from all those that past, where GRACE is the rule, and salvation open to all, but which will END as it says in Ephesians, in the Fullness of times, when Christ gathers his own to be with him forever.
How to deny that there are specific time frames in the 6,000 years of mankind on earth, except to be overly concerned about the bastardization of this truth by devils like Scoffield and Darby? Ugly men, whose faces, not unlike Klaus Schwab and Henry Kissinger, tell you everything you need to know.. they are liars and haters of mankind and God.
In my 50 years of Biblical research, and walking with the ‘parakletos’, I have not paid the least mind to men like Darby and Scoffield, the luciferians who trouble some saints so much. But mind you, to use their positions as a basis for study, that is to pivot from their teachings in a knee jerk manner- rather than search the Scriptures unimpeded by a preconcieved approval or disapproval of any theologic.. is to be compromised after all - and make the devil successful in his mission to distort one's grasp of truth.
We ought to not let what any one man believes or teaches become the basis for our own theology. Wouldn't you agree?
The commended Berians (Acts 17:11) ‘searched the Scriptures themselves daily, to see ‘if these things were so’.. What things? That which Paul taught. You see, they refused to base their theology on what anyone said - man or devil. Taking it to the holy spirit for confirmation. THIS is in fact, what the HOLY SPIRIT of truth is FOR!
POINTING OUT THE CRUCIAL NEED FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM;
I have wondered if they are baptized in the holy spirit who obsess over the doctrines of men; Rather, as we saw with the 1st Century Church, it was the holy spirit baptism that launched the disciples ability to copy Jesus; in power, and in discerning truth.
Bottom line; We don’t position ourselves in the Scriptures, based on what men teach - whether we agree or oppose them!
Paul was baptized ere he began to receive the greatest revelations of all time, that is, the Doctrines of the Church of God, (Romans through II Thessalonians, and the letters to Timothy, and the Hebrews) He was baptized in holy spirit before his receiving the revelations of the Mystery concerning the One Body of Jews and Gentiles. This is why Paul was uniquely concerned about the saved saints in Ephesus being baptized in holy spirit, as the record shows in Acts 19! And upon determining they’d only received John’s baptism of repentance, (water) that needed to be repeated yearly - he immediately corrected that with the one permanent baptism - holy spirit.
It deserves notice that the Baptism in holy spirit is not automatic with salvation; but must be pursued.
I have wondered if the Lord did this, to limit his Church to those who were diligent; unmoveable; painstaking. Salvation by grace - if you think about it - is almost too easy. And that which is easy, may also be lightly regarded. Did God made the birth of take 9 months to complete - so that the child would be highly regarded?
Our salvation - as achieved by grace, confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9 & 10) - is instantaneous; Whereas the Baptism in holy spirit has hurdles to surmount;
First of all - it requires obedience, even now, as it did in the first chapter of the Book of Acts, when if the Apostles had disobeyed Jesus, and not been in the right place at the right time, they’d not have received it.
The Baptism also requires a willingness to put away the Old Covenant (water) which was a figure for the time then present (Hebrews 9:9) a mere shadow of the true; and accept the New Covenant - which is the substance, which substance both John the Baptist and Jesus himself also said, was the BUT YE of Luke 24 and Acts 1, and Acts 11, and Acts 19,..
..”but YE shall be baptized with the holy ghost and with fire..”
Ours being now the better covenant, established upon better promises.
CHARLES PARHAM
Lately the Lord led me to the ministry of Charles Parham. I'd never even heard about him till a few weeks ago. I found out that he wrote a book - 'A Voice in the Wilderness'. I'm reading it now.
Parham had a remarkable ministry and relationship with the Lord. In his book, he writes a great deal about the Baptism in the holy spirit.
You can download the book - HERE.
The reason I'm writing this is to encourage Christians to think about these things, because one thing is certain, the dispensation of the Fullness of Times is very near.
This age of the Gentiles rule, where men savage the saints, and curse the Lord God and His Christ, is about to end.
We want to be saved, yes, and also clothed with holy spirit which by the testimony of many many Scriptures, is a dividing point in the Kingdom to come.
I beseech you to ask the Lord about all these things.
And bless you in his wonderful name,
Victoria
