You would like to hear from God? PART II - Hear how 2 men, led of the holy spirit, impacted the world- and their common mode of operation.
I’m going to tell you a bit about 2 men, that proved God like few in modern history ever have. Their feats are mind boggling. Yet they both applied the same system to their lives, which enabled such accomplishments.
Let’s start today - with the man from Alabama.. Read these snippets from one of the most important and interesting books I’ve ever read1, then we’ll look at his system..
Most of us have heard of George Washington Carver - the man who invented 300 uses for the peanut and another 150 uses for sweet potatoes, etc. What few know is that he revolutionized the economy of the one-crop-shop South, single handedly.
Another thing few know, is how much money was offered to the man to work for wealthy entrepreneurs (Like Thomas Edison) or big businesses; that he declined.
And few know that he refused to patent his over 500 or so inventions, which would have made him rich.. preferring to keep everything in the ‘public domain’, thereby benefitting the little guy- the farmer, his countrymen, rather than the wealthy corporations, or even.. himself.
What even FEWER know about Carver, is how he came by his information. But read on..
Jim meets the man from Alabama for the first time: “I..
Wow. When the first answer didn’t fix the problem, he went back to God again - and fixed it tremendously!
How did it all begin for Carver?..
He asked God for a pocket knife with the faith of a child that we all should have. And, actually - He asked God to SEND him a knife.. And God did.
Carver’s system of hearing from God - :
Those that seek me early, shall find me..
“When people are still asleep, I hear God best, and learn my plan..”
Carver lived a ‘fasted life’. He rose at 4am his whole life - to spend time alone with God. Among the things He learned from God is how LOVE is what makes faith work.
‘For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision;
but faith which WORKS by love. Galatians 5:6
How simple. God is love; If the verse says He ‘inhabits our prayers’.. how much MORE does He inhabit our spirit when we manifest true LOVE?
In a crowd, Carver could pick out those who were deeply spiritual.. and also the opposite..
I know exactly what he means.
The man got up hours before others his whole life, to spend time with God. Today, how many people count that as more important than the many busy activities and commitments written on their daily dance cards? That tells you how many get the ‘secrets of the Kingdom’ as Carver did.
This truth is also in the Bible: Jesus told his disciples -
“Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven,
but to them it is not given.” Matthew 13:11
Who is ‘YOU’? and who is ‘THEM’?
Watch your pronouns in Scripture. Jesus often used the word ‘Them’ for those ‘outside the fold’. Who were they? They are ‘the multitudes’.. busy with their lives, their crowded days, important agendas.. busy gathering wealth and feathering nests - who never think to climb the mountains to spend time alone with him (As in Matthew 5:1); who never hang around after church, to ask him questions (As in Matthew 13:36) or even ‘GO’ to him with questions to ‘confirm what they think they believe’.. (As in Isaiah 30:1& 2)
Who is YOU in this verse? The Disciples. The ‘Disciplined ones’ - Who make the time to spend time with the Lord - who ask him ‘at his mouth’, searching the Scriptures DAILY to get his answers, and ‘see if these things are so’.
The proportions have not changed. In Jesus’ day on earth, he fed thousands, but only 120 or so, were his ‘disciples’.
Carver was a ‘disciple of Jesus Christ’ who was given the ‘secrets of the Kingdom’.
George Washington Carver knew Thomas Edison, and said that Edison was also inspired by God.
Here Jim asks,.. ‘WHY DO SO FEW PEOPLE HAVE THIS POWER?”
The Answer was and is, “If they will study and believe the Bible.“
And if they will spend time with the Lord - regularly and early..
And if they love as Jesus did.

just finished.. it’s 12:57 am on the 26th. The hourglass is still pouring out..
TOMORROW THE SYSTEM FOR HEARING FROM GOD - OF THE ‘MAN FROM BRISTOL’
The Man Who Talked To Flowers - by Glenn Clarke
Interesting read. I enjoyed it. Thank you. Fwiw, I live not too far from Tuskegee, so for that reason, this resonated with me even more. That and driving past fields of cotton which I had never laid eyes on before we moved so far south!
Spending more time with God is always a worthy pursuit.
Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing; another wonderful testimony of God. Merry Christmas.
