I always wonder how it is you see the truth and so many others who are Christians do not? Because I see this same truth. So many are so indoctrinated and propagandized and brainwashed. By their media, their government, their pastors. Many see a lot of truth but are blind when it comes to Israel. 🤷🏻‍♀️

For starters, this marks the 50th year that I have not watched television. The Lord steered me away from it when I left my parents home in 1974 and I have never looked back. People think they can watch and choose their programs, but the words themselves tell you everything you need to know - 'Channels', 'Programming'.. Though they think so, no one has any choice because the flashing images alter your brain waves, the lying content, the slanted perspectives - all of it has an agenda. It's one enormous psychological operation. The saints that watch TV are feeding on a diet of lies, which makes it very hard to discern truth. You can't feed on lies and then pick up the Bible and expect to discern truth.

It’s funny you say that because I’ve attributed my ability to see through a lot of things to not watching much television and when I did I wouldn’t watch commercials. I have watched some tv (mostly old shows) in the last 8 years because my husband won’t stop and I spend time with him that way. Thanks again.

Undoutedly true!

The other subtle but very real loss with television, is the time that might otherwise be spent learning, talking to people, studying the Scriptures. TV has become a way of life, and people fail to grasp what they are missing.

TV is a mindless place to park your brain while the subconscious is loaded up with the 'real' programming... tell a lie box .. is the idiots box.

Recently my brother sheltered with me during the Hurricane. He was shocked and aghast I DID NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONAL TV! Omig. I use my phone for pretty much everything. He went out afterwards and got me a tablet. I still use the phone, LOL. But I should use a print book, Gotta start to do that. I never watch TV shows. I spend time on the stacks, I read. I have a radio but I usually don't listen to it. I'll play music on the Computer instead. I find my life is calmer. He actually was going into with drawl without his precious CNN on 24 7 ....

Hmm What an interesting perk from an otherwise awful affair - no electricity equated to no TV for a while there. Some psychologist in the 1980s once suggested to parents that they ‘try it for one month.. going without TV for themselves and their children’,. They came back with shocked faces and discoveries like.. “My child loved reading”! ‘My child became creative”.. ‘My child was friendlier.. politer..etcetera’.

It was a lesson learned, if short lived.

As for me and my house - we have lived without TV (ME - 50 years) my ex - (the 30 years he’s known me) our son ( his entire 25 years of life) and no one once said.. ‘maybe we should get a TV’. It’s been an incredible freedom.
