How much fun it is to walk with him!

Not only did Jesus show me something about today’s new guests, he let none of my words fall to the ground..

Early this afternoon I got a call from a lady who wanted to rent 2 rooms tonight in our Bed & Breakfast. Seems she was on the road with her husband and 2 children, bicycling from way far away. They estimated about 4 hours to get to us.

The Lord showed me immediately to ‘take care of them’. That they were of the ‘household of faith’.

So I cut the cost of 2 rooms, bought them a huge watermelon for dessert, gave them complimentary bath salts for the Jacuzzi tub that’s in one of their 2 bathrooms, and tomorrow I’ll do their laundry. :>}

(They did not know that I knew they were Christians! But, I told them in a funny way.. Haha!..)

All day long we’ve had storm warnings for our area. So, while they were trying to get here ahead of the storm, I texted the mom that I’d ‘hold the storm back till they got here’. She did not reply to that…

When they finally arrived, they regarded me with sideway glances; put their belongings in their rooms, cleaned up, and went out to dinner at a restaurant a 1/2 block away. At which point, I let the cat out of the bag.. texting the mom…

‘I didn’t make that remark disingenuously. In the Gospels Jesus was very disappointed when, in a storm, his disciples came running to him in fear; and he did what he expected THEM to do.. he rebuked the storm. Then he said to them, ‘How long will I suffer your unbelief’.

Anyway, we read that years ago and have made a habit of rebuking storms when there is a need. So for example, when our guests are coming or going, we rebuke storms; We have a 100% record of success’!”

The mom texted me back.. “🙏¹ -We are believers as well! We say prayers each before we head out each morning on this trip… And your Aussie is so adorable!’

You see, I said that, and wrote that - because I already knew it. :>}

(Turns out THEY ALSO have an Australian Shepherd.!)

Speaking of which.. and speaking of storms…

Yesterday, I wanted to finally get to a 100-acre dog park 15 minutes from my house - having not had the time to take my 2 Australian Shepherds there for days.. but it was ‘raining cats and DOGS’.

So I drove to the park anyway, and on the way there I told the sky - “YOU must STOP raining when I get to the park - in the name of Jesus Christ’. (I do this all the time).

(We did get a bit wet when we first arrived.. but it DID stop in a few minutes as we walked the trails.. and to be honest with you.. the little bit of rain that fell on us felt great - as it had been so hot yesterday previously!)

The important point of this post is found in Matthew 8:23 and John 14:12.

‘But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We're going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.’ Matthew 8:23

‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.’ John 14:12

The Lord made it patently clear, that whatever HE did, WE can do, and he expects us to.

Friend, I don’t know about you.. but I have no interest in being famous on earth.. I want to be famous IN HEAVEN! I want the angels to slap me on the back and say..

WE WERE AMAZED AT YOUR FAITH! IT’S GREAT TO MEET YOU!!
