So, I took a hike along the Canal today and one of my dogs returned with a healthy serving of burrs, which I failed to see, but she set to pulling them off herself, and consequently swallowing, and then choking. When I heard her puking in the kitchen, I put the pieces together, grabbed a brush and removed the balance of the wads off of her to avert more trouble. Since then, she’s been outside eating grass, and is back in the kitchen emptying her crop of crap.
Somehow that reminded me of my returning to ‘Nextdoor’1 this week, and putting up 2 posts. The comments were 75% in favor, with some 25% against. The voices against, didn't just object to my content - mind you, but even my right to offer it. Our human, and civil, right that is, to discuss the issues of the day between ourselves, was deemed by some to be objectionable.
In just this week, since returning, Nextdoor removed both of my posts. That has to be some kind of a record. Or maybe not,.. perhaps some other candid military veteran commentator like myself has taken a stab at adult public discourse, and been censored in short order. (Visions of East Germany 1962' to 89'.)
Be that as it may, it was encouraging to see that a number of my neighbors shared my concern about what we once enjoyed in the 1st Amendment, and didn't hestitate to say so. Thank you. We need more like you.
Like I said, only a few objected to my right to discuss a topic, elbowing into the discussion with pat regurgitations of the ‘PSYOPS’2 blather that is otherwise called network 'news'. (Which always amuses me, because of how many people actually think the 'news' is a way to 'source information'. It's actually more like what a cow does when the stuff comes back up to his mouth from his own stomach. It's not a source, but predigested and ready to eat. Worse for sure than an MRE.)
One SUREFIRE way to recognize PSYOPS is by the 'slogans' that get endlessly repeated. If you're never seen this before - it's an eye opening video to illustrate the point:
Case in point today, one 'slogan' trotted out by a ‘neighbor’ on Nextdoor, objecting to my discussion was 'mis-information'.
Mis-information is an oxymoron. But they LOVE that term on the news, (do see the video), and so it crops up (no pun intended) over and again with people who only know how to 'source' information from TV.
Personally I've been blogging for 12 years in one form or another. Being prior service, (US Army 17 years) in both the medical corps, and MI (Military Intelligence) AND in fact, as the NCOIC of the Security Shop of a PSYOPS Unit in Maryland.. I know how to source information and I'm not afraid to share it. (I only ever share ‘open source’ information, but I perform the service of connecting the dots for the people who prefer truthful reporting). It's part of my oath to 'Defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic - so help me God'.

A neighborhood based social media platform that enables locals to find lost dogs, discuss the weather, and post pix of front door package robberies - but which prohibits any serious discussions between consenting adults.
('Psychological Operations’ is the military term for ‘controlling the narrative’. And it is an entire ARM of the US military. I served in a PSYOPS unit).
