There’s a gal in Texas, Jennifer, that has been reading my Stacks, who has gifted me with wonderful letters, and now 2 books by divine inspiration, that, well, I checked to see on each one, what the postage from heaven cost..

The 1st book she sent to me- in just the first few pages of the book - answered a question I’d had practically since becoming a Christian 5 decades ago.. If you get the book, read page vii carefully..

That book is called: “Mastery’, by E. Stanley Jones. I haven’t read the whole thing,.. not yet anyway; Sometimes God will send you a whole book, just to show you ONE thing you need to know.

Now, just to show how inspired this gift was.. Jennifer enclosed a greeting card with it.. On the face of the card was a COLOR FAN DECK,… you know, the thing a painter uses to choose colors.

Jennifer had no way of knowing that God had JUST gotten me a contract job as the Colorist of the restoration of The Landmark Theater in Syracuse NY. (Article with photos HERE) Every historic reproduction color being painted on the walls, ceilings, and art of the monumental historic theater, I mixed.

Here’s my current work space.. (that's my foot in the bottom of the shot)..

‘he maketh my feet like hinds feet, and sets me upon my high places’..

Here are some colors I mixed to reproduce precisely the historic ceiling as it was.. This is an ‘after photo’, .. after all the plaster repairs and repainting of the ceiling 4 stories up..

Jennifer had no idea that I was working as a paint color matcher/mixer when she sent me a COLOR FAN deck greeting card! Hah! That’s called inspiration of the holy spirit… Isn’t that COOL!?

But the INSPIRED BOOK choice is even MORE AMAZING…

The 2nd book Jennifer sent to me arrived yesterday…

I’ve had books sent to me before. Some good, some worthless (like ‘The Stack’ sent by a well meaning friend) But THIS 2nd book is worth more than all the diamond mines of South Africa. In fact, Wisdom has no price.

It’s called ‘Dancing on the Edge of the Earth’., by William Lau.

Turns out, this second book is preparing me for something that I’ve only just been commissioned to perform.

This sort of thing means God is in the details, and somebody is not only listening to him, but obedient to His voice. Thank you Jennifer!

Have you ever wondered how to serve God best? The BEST thing any man or woman of God can do, is develop an ear to hear..

From what I see, this gal from Texas has this DOWN PAT.

OK.. As tired as I was tonight after a very long week of scaffold climbing and very hard physical work, I coldn’t go to sleep after reading a few pages from Brother William’s book. I took the book to the kitchen table and searched my phone online to learn about the author (William Lau). I discovered that he not only believes John 14:12, he teaches others how to believe and live it. He has classes online where he teaches would be disciples how to carry out the Great Commission.

Sitting here tonight, I listened to the beginning of session #1 of a class called ‘The Elijah Challenge Training: Day 1 - Part 1. Then the middle, and finally I heard the whole class! And I learned a lot of VERY USEFUL THINGS! (I put the playback speed on 1.5, and got everything he said. Brother William talks a bit slow, so speeding it up helps!)

The class is very practical, and faithful to Scripture. By the end of just this 1st session, you’ll be ready to go out and act like the disciples Jesus had in mind, when he gave the Great Commission! (But go ahead and do all 6 sessions.. and please, let me know what you think!)
