Our average in this house - of no sickness at all - is 17 years and counting. We save what we don't pay to pharmacists, or doctors, or insurance policies, spending a portion on high quality local - or organic food. (I thank GOD that we are able to do that. Make no mistake. Though having ZERO bills related to ‘medicine’, helps a lot.)
In our system of staying healthy, we surveil products prior to purchase - more often than not. And if something slips past our radar, it's not usually for long. But here's our latest finding.. and disappointment..
This is a mayonnaise we bought lately, since it was more reasonably priced than our Wegman’s favorite (see photo below). In the last 2 years I’d started a search for a good mayonnaise that doesn’t cost $10 per 12 oz jar (good for maybe 6 sandwiches the way we load it on) (which the Wegman’s brand does, and that doesn’t have soy or canola oil as a base. (We won’t consume those oils even organic).. We have tested a few types.
Trader Joe’s had none. (At Joes’ all the mayo had Soy or Canola - even the organic brands) The vegan variety was too runny. So when I found this Better Body Foods brand (at Walmart) I was initially pleased. In the photo of the front of the bottle, everything looks good!..)
100)% Pure
Cage Free Eggs
Soy & Canola Free
Non GMO..
But a check of the ingredients on the back was a shock. The mayo contains a preservative called - EDTA.
SO WHAT?
In the USA anyway, EDTA passed the FDA's strict (NOT) consumer approval testing. (Hello. This is the same agency that turned us into a nation of guinea pigs for untested vaccines- meanwhile forbidding or supressing time tested viral combaters like Ivermectin and Hydroxychlorquine.. Not to mention MMS and its affiliates)
In fact, thanks to the FDA ‘GRAS’ rating - EDTA is even sold as a 'chelation formula' through 'health food' lines.
